Ethical Challenges in AI-Driven Drug Development
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized the field of drug development, offering unprecedented opportunities to accelerate the discovery of new therapeutics, optimize clinical trials, and personalize medicine. However, the integration of AI into drug development also presents significant ethical challenges. This article explores the ethical dilemmas associated with AI-driven drug development, including issues related to data privacy, bias, transparency, accountability, and the potential for exacerbating health disparities. We also discuss the implications of AI for intellectual property rights, the role of regulatory frameworks, and the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to address these challenges. By examining these issues in depth, this article aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the ethical landscape of AI-driven drug development and to offer recommendations for navigating these challenges responsibly.
